Role Overview

The Senior Mining Geochemist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the company's capabilities in mining geochemistry, focusing on insitu remediation projects for closed mines. Reporting to the Chief Geologist, this individual will be instrumental in winning new projects, executing hands-on geochemical work, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development of proposals for mining geochemistry projects.
  • Conduct advanced geochemical analyses, including contaminant fate and transport, acid rock drainage, and chlorinated solvents modeling.
  • Provide expert guidance on insitu remediation strategies for closed mine sites.
  • Mentor junior geochemists, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

Position Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in Geochemistry.
  • Professional certification (PG or RG) desired.
  • Minimum of 10 years in environmental consulting, with at least 5 years dedicated to mining geochemistry and insitu remediation of closed mines.
  • Strong preference for candidates with consulting background and willingness to travel 10-20%.
