Operations Superintendent Job Profile:

Our client, an innovative critical minerals mining company, is seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent to lead their operations team in the SW US. This is a unique opportunity to drive operational excellence and contribute to the sustainable production of minerals essential for transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely reports on operational KPIs and progress towards meeting and exceeding them.
  • Support construction activities as necessary with a focus on maintaining rinsing operations.
  • Monitor, engage, and provide leadership supporting the site safety program.
  • Manage and monitor quality assurance activities through construction.
  • Assist with the development and execution of the project commissioning plan.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and work to resolve potential problems, work conflicts, and/or schedule challenges.
  • Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor the operations teams, including direct and indirect reports.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead all site operations, employee, and contractor activities to meet production goals and other operational KPIs.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all permit conditions and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Safely and efficiently run SXEW operations to meet and exceed production goals and objectives.
  • Manage, lead, and develop solutions and/or enhancements to troubleshoot and solve operational problems.
  • Provide input and insight on operations plans and timelines. Provide technical information, insight, and expertise as required.
  • Participate as necessary in site tours. Maintain positive relationships with local community leaders and regulators.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all permit conditions and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with the leaders of the other functional departments.
  • Engage and manage external consultants and vendors as required.
  • Manage the department’s annual budget and approved project work.
  • Ensure development plans in place for operations department members.

Education and Work Experience:

  • 10 years mining related experience.
  • Experience managing wellfield or SXEW plant operations.
  • 5 plus years of supervisory, operations, or maintenance experience, preferably in a senior leadership role.
