The Mine Engineer will report to the Senior Mine Engineer. This role is accountable for providing engineering support for mine design, planning, and special mine projects. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
  • Participate in Department and individual Health & Safety Management plans, perform work according to policies and procedure, comply with Federal & State regulations.
  • Support operations using Deswik.OPS short interval planning tools. Create baselines, track actuals, build reports
  • Develop infrastructure designs and plans to support mining; to include ventilation, water management, and LTE network.
  • Develop practical, accurate, and effective mine designs consistent with industry standards, comply with recommended design guidelines
  • Support technical reviews, cost forecasting, resource allocation, life of mine, monthly, and weekly progress tracking, and reporting
  • Review current mining operations and investigate other methods to improve efficiency in mine operations
  • Knowledge of exploration methods, mineral inventory estimates and resource estimation
  • Support mine projects to include AFE, pre-feasibility studies, and project reporting and tracking
  • Assist Senior Mine Engineer with Resource and Reserve reporting
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong safety, health and environment commitment and improvement mindset required
  • Individual must have at least a B.S. in Mining Engineering or related field
  • 2-4 years of technical and/or operations experience in underground mining environment required
  • High level of competence using mining software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Ventsim required
  • Experience in operations with complex multi ore body planning preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills preferred
