Senior Process Control Systems Engineer Job Profile:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Control Systems Engineer to review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations for Process Control System Engineering during various project stages. Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Review, investigate, and develop recommendations for Process Control System Engineering during Feasibility Study, Basic Engineering, and Detailed Engineering stages. 
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, resolving technical issues/conflicts and ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. 
  • Interpret P&I Drawings, System Architecture, Software and Hardware Specifications, and Programming. 
  • Support risk assessments, including PHA/HAZOP, LOPA/SIL assessment, and SIL verification; review safety requirement specifications (SRS) and oversee the implementation of Safety Instrumented Systems. 
  • Use technical judgment in making selections and adapting alternatives for controls system implementation during various project stages. 
  • Develop conceptual and detailed System Architecture, Hardware and Software requirements, including Programming of Delta V. 
  • Support the development/preparation of company discipline specification standards. 
  • Work with project teams during control system optimization efforts at various project stages. 
  • Implement and monitor performance indicators and metrics for PCS progress/schedule during project implementation. 
  • Prepare reports to communicate project status and outcomes to stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, departments, and company installations/sites to provide technical support and recommendations for Control System requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, regulations, and safety guidelines during project implementation. 
  • Generate and review technical reports for Control Systems requirements to support project implementation. 


Minimum Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in engineering relevant to Electrical or Instrumentation and Control; OR 
  • Master's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in engineering relevant to Electrical or Instrumentation and Control. 
  • Experience managing and working with Engineering Consultants and Contractors. 
  • Demonstrated experience in the execution of PCS projects, including programming and configurations. 


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Engineering degree in Electrical or Instrumentation and Control. 
  • Instrumentation and Controls engineering experience in the Mineral Processing Industry. 
  • Proficiency in the development of System Engineering, Configuration, and Programming of Delta V system. 
  • Proficiency in Smart-Plant Instrumentation. 
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team. 
  • Use of judgment in making selections and adapting engineering alternatives. 
  • Supports risk assessments, including PHA/HAZOP, LOPA/SIL assessment, and SIL verification. 
  • Review of safety requirement specifications (SRS), working knowledge of IEC 61508 & IEC 61511. 
  • Proficiency in the implementation of Safety Instrumented Systems. 
  • Ten (10) years related experience in engineering relevant to Electrical or Instrumentation and Control.
